Third Annual Victoria Pickleball Day – Saturday, August 19th 10am-2pm

Thrifty Foods is sponsoring our pb community get together at Carnarvon Park, 2801 Henderson Rd, this Saturday by providing a tent and some snacks. It’s a good idea to bring a camp chair if you have one…. This is a free event for players of all ages and abilities. There is a challenge court for people who want a competitive game. At 1pm there is a demonstration game by some 4.5+ playersPat Moss will be there to provide instruction and mentoring at the multi use courts. If you have an extra paddle please bring it to lend out to new players – Courtside Sports is providing some demos.

Brian Eccles from our Carnarvon group did an interview about the event for the Oak bay News….Here is the link:

Brian has also arranged Chek News to do some publicity. I hope we have a good turnout at our PickleNic to show that our little sport is worthy of support. As you know our game is growing and rocking like crazy. A good public profile helps when we lobby our municipal leaders for more courts and places to play.

Pat Moss has been doing mentoring and instruction most morning (9 am- noon) at Carnarvon Park…She will helping us ”cut a piece of the pie” on the courts this Saturday. Thanks Pat:-)

It’s always good to have some friends in high places (to go along with us regular pb rowdies)…Brian Eccles had some fun dinking with Oak Bay mayor, Nils Jensen, at Carnarvon Courts.

If you have any questions or comments please send me an email. See you Saturday.
